where is god hiding?

As the parable goes, after creating human beings, God was very much in trouble because every human being would go on and on asking for His favours, day in and day out.

No other creature would ever ask Him for so many favours, they were thankful for their existence and for the bounteous earth and did not bother God at all.

Therefore God called a meeting of His entire high-level ministerial group. In this meeting all His ministers, old and young, were present.

The agenda was that the God was fed up with the frequent demands of all the men and women (and especially children!) and wanted to find a place where he could actually go hide Himself.

One young minister suggested Mount Everest as the best place but that was ruled out by God. Very soon, He said, two men called Hilary and Tenzing would get there.

Another minister suggested the moon as the ideal place but that was also ruled out, for, said God, with a weary air, very soon a human called Neil Armstrong would land there.

Finally a very old and experienced minister with a long white beard went up boldly to God and whispered something in His ear.

This immediately brightened up God's face and he said delightedly, "Now that's what I call a deep and cunning plan! I accept your suggestion and shall reward you handsomely for it!"

Naturally, everybody present was eager to know what the old minister had suggested.

God waited for the clamour to die down and beaming broadly, revealed, "As per this wise minister's suggestion, I shall hide myself in the very heart of all human beings.

I am very sure they will not be able to find me easily unless they overcome their ignorance, desires, ambitions and their greed."

And that's how it's been ever since.

God lies in peace in each one of our hearts, but do we think of finding Him within ourselves?

Instead we run about, looking for Him , outside , but not where He is

HOUSE OF 1000 MIRRORS

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors .


A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house.


He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, " This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."


In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door.


When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."


All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet?

Berakhir dengan Adu Penalti?

Manchester - Menghadapi permainan negatif Manchester United, Barcelona dipaksa bermain 0-0. Tak diketahui seperti apa jalannya leg II, pastinya Frank Rijkaard siap jika berakhir lewat adu penalti.

Dalam pertandingan leg pertama pekan lalu Barcelona sesungguhnya mampu mendominasi permainan dan memaksa MU lebih banyak bermain di lapanganya sendiri. Namun dengan "Setan Merah" yang menumpuk pemainnya di barisan belakang, setiap usaha yang dilakukan Barca selalu berakhir dengan kegagalan.

Untuk laga kedua dinihari nanti, kondisinya dipastikan akan jauh berbeda karena MU akan mengejar kemenangan di depan pendukungnya sendiri. Kondisi serupa akan ditempuh Rijkaard yang memang tak punya pilihan untuk terus tampil menyerang.

"Kami harus mencetak gol untuk memastikan langkah ke babak selanjutnya. Kami harus menekankan kembali gaya pernainan kami. Menahan bola, mengumpannya, mempertahankan penguasaan bola dan mungkin berusaha tidak terbawa gaya permainan MU terlalu banyak," ungkap Rijkaard di Yahoosport.

Meski permainan menyerang akan diperagakan oleh kedua kubu, Rijkaard merasa ada kemungkinan laga tak menghasilkan satu golpun yang berarti pemenang harus ditentukan melalui adu penalti. Jika skenario tersebut benar terjadi, pelatih Belanda itu sudah menyiapkan antisipasi.

"Pertandingannya bisa saja berakhir imbang (tanpa gol) jadi Anda harus menyiapkan untuk penalti. Kami sudah menyiapkan itu," lanjut Rijkaard.

Jarang terjadi adu penalti di semifinal Liga Champuions. Namun kali terakhir adu tos-tosan dilakukan di babak empat besar justru baru terjadi musim lalu saat Liverpool menundukkan Chelsea dengan 4-3 setelah sebelumnya bermain sama kuat 1-1.

Tanda Tanya Rooney-Vidic

Manchester - Peluang Wayne Rooney dan Nemanja Vidic tampil saat Manchester United menjamu Barcelona di semifinal kedua Liga Champions dinihari nanti masih fifty-fifty.

Rooney mengalami masalah pada pinggangnya saat MU ditekuk Chelsea pada akhir pekan. Sementara Vidic mengalami cedera pada wajahnya.

Kondisi ini memunculkan kekhawatiran tersendiri, mengingat laga melawan Barca merupakan partai penting untuk merebut satu tiket ke final Liga Champions.

"Memang partai penting, jadi kami harus memberi setiap peluang yang ada. Memang cukup sulit, keduanya mungkin tampil, tapi saya tidak bisa memastikannya," tandas Alex Ferguson mengenai kesempatan Rooney dan Vidic untuk tampil.

Dan bila kemungkinan terburuk terjadi, Fergie mengaku tidak terlalu cemas. "Saya percaya dengan para pemain (pelapis). Saya ini manajer yang beruntung karena memiliki pemain yang bagus," tandasnya seperti dikutip Goal.

Jakarta - Mampu mencuri satu poin dari laga tandang, Chelsea dan Manchester United lebih berpeluang lolos ke final Liga Champions. Setengah langkah lagi menuju Luzhniki Stadium?

Sir Alex Ferguson dan seluruh punggawa Manchester United mungkin tak perduli dengan cibiran yang banyak terlontar usai laga leg pertama di kandang Barcelona pekan lalu. Dinilai menerapkan sepakbola negatif dan bermain sangat buruk, "Setan Merah" tetap jadi tim yang diuntungkan dengan skor 0-0 yang kemudian tercipta.

Di laga sekrusial semifinal Liga Champions, mampu menahan imbang tim sekelas Barca di Camp Nou jelas raihan yang sangat positif. Memang belum ada yang bisa dipastikan dari skor kacamata tersebut, namun di Old Trafford, Rabu (30/4/2006) dinihari nanti, MU punya peluang lebih besar untuk melangkah si final Liga Champions pertamanya setelah menjadi juara tahun 1999 silam.

Tahu Barca akan menyerang habis-habisan di kandangnya sendiri, rasanya tak salah kalau Fergie kemudian menginstruksikan pemainnya untuk banyak-banyak bertahan di laga pertama lalu. Tapi saat bertanding di 'The Theater of Dreams' jangan harap ada ulangan hasil seperti pekan lalu.

Faktanya Old Trafford kini merupakan stadion paling angker di Eropa setelah si empunya selalu memetik kemenangan di 11 pertandingan beruntun Liga Champions. Frank Rijkaard dan pasukannya harus menoleh ke tiga tahun lalu untuk mengingat laga terakhir di mana MU gagal memetik kemenangan di kandang sendiri, saat itu mereka ditahan tanpa gol oleh Villarreal.

Berbicara soal keangkeran kandang, Stamford Bridge bisa menghadirkan mimpi buruk serupa saat Chelsea menjamu Liverpool. Memang rekor empat tahun tak pernah kalah hanya dicatatkan The Blues di Liga Inggris, tapi bukankah The Reds juga berasal dari Premiership yang membuat "kutukan" tersebut juga berlaku(?).

Frank Lampard dkk pastinya tak mau membuang begitu saja moment mencatatkan sejarah yang sudah tersaji di depan mata. Setelah menahan "Si Merah" di Anfield dengan 1-1, Chelsea kini berada di ambang final Liga Champions pertamanya.

Dalam empat musim terakhir The Kop selalu menjadi mimpi buruk Chelsea di Liga Champions. Namun bunuh diri John Arne Riise di menit terakhir pertandingan leg I lalu adalah kunci The Blues untuk membalikkan kondisi tersebut. Cukup bermain tanpa gol, tiket menuju Moscow akan dikantongi Chelsea.

Jika itu benar terjadi, Avram Grant mungkin menjadi orang yang paling bersuka cita. Sukses membawa Chelsea ke final Liga Champions berarti membuktikan kalau dirinya lebih baik dari Jose Mourinho yang selama tiga musim cuma bisa membawa Chelsea ke semifinal.

Setengah kaki "Si Biru" dan "Setan Merah" sudah di final? Bisa jadi begitu meski perjuangan untuk melangkahkan satu kaki lainnya masih jauh dari mudah.

Barcelona bagaimanapun juga adalah salah satu tim dengan materi pemain paling menakutkan di "Benua Biru" musim ini. Ingat pula kalau mereka adalah juara dua musim lalu.

Salah besar juga jika menyebut peluang Liverpool sudah habis. Grant harusnya tahu kalau Steven Gerrard cs "dibentuk" untuk berkompetisi Eropa, keberhasilan menundukkan Inter Milan adalah bukti nyata hal tersebut.
